Florida: The laughingstock of the world
Just as us Floridians are healing from what easily can be classified as the injustice of the century and we, along with the rest of the country, are beginning to have the discussion on how we can better protect our children a judge in Jacksonville, (yep, you guessed it) Florida has given custody of a 3 year-old girl to a registered sex offender. If that wasn’t bad enough, he is not even the child’s biological father.
Wait, hold on a second judge. Not sure if you have been paying attention to the news here in Florida, but we are trying to better PROTECT our children, not possibly put them in harms way. The court has ruled that the guy is the “legal father.” “Legal father,” what the heck does that mean? He shouldn’t even get custody if he was the “father father.”
It is so unconscionable to think that this could happen in our society. I understand having law and abiding by it, but what happened to common sense? I do hope that this little girl remains safe.
